More than a decade in how QA has always been. Looking to help shape what it’ll be.
YOUR ROLE HAS BEEN IMPACTED was something I’d thought about at Cash App for years before I got the email. Leading up to that point, AI adoption org-wide was steadily increasing and I became more and more accustomed to using agents for QA-related tasks in daily workflows.
Things were changing fast and how we did things was going to be unrecognizable from how we do things now.
And I was genuinely excited to continue learning, growing, and shaping how we do things now. I still am.
I spent fourteen years learning how we did things. I spent the last five at one of the best technology companies learning how we did things. I became a pretty good QA engineer by learning how we did things.
But I became more interested in figuring out and experimenting with how we do things now.
My role was impacted. What it becomes next, I’d like to figure out with a good team around me.

Fourteen years of instinct, with AI at my side
Release confidence. Migrations, rebuilds, and new features, from design spec to post launch. Anything from a one‑off assist to multi‑quarter projects reaching millions of customers.
Hands-on testing. Manual testing on iOS, Android, and web since the BlackBerry days. End-to-end and UI test suites in XCUITest and Espresso.
Building with AI. Claude Code and Codex are everyday tools now: agents for writing test scripts, triaging failures, and drafting test cases from specs. Augmenting my testing, not replacing it.
Daniel always had a team-first mentality and was always willing to step up to contribute to the group’s success.
